Walter Warren Seaman

Walter Seaman, age 84, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his residence.  A native of Gouverneur, NY, he was a son of the late Larry and Virginia Seaman.  Mr. Seaman spent his childhood and youth in Tennessee.  He earned his engineering degree from the University of Tennessee and was a member of the Sig Ep fraternity.  Mr. Seaman retired from the Mead Corporation.In addition to his parents, Mr. Seaman was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Gainey.Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Smith Seaman, of the home; two sons, Kevin Seaman, Atlanta, Georgia, and Steve Howard, Gainesville, Florida; a brother, Robert Seaman, Knoxville, Tennessee.  Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Seaman will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 6, 2018 in the sanctuary of Munsey United Methodist Church with Rev. Douglas Grove-DeJarnett, Dr. Phil Kennison, and Rev. Carol Wilson officiating.The family will receive friends Friday, July 6 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary of the church.  In lieu of flowers, please contribute donations to “the Send Committee”, at Munsey United Methodist Church, P.O Box 1336, Johnson City, TN  37605.Read Obituary
