Virginia Faye (Taylor) Sams

OBITARY-Virginia Taylor Sams Virginia Taylor Sams, 88, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Hermitage Health Center. She was a Carter Co. native and a daughter of the late Earl and Delphia Whitehead Taylor. Virginia was an employee of Bemburg Industries and was a member of Unaka Ave. Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan and Jonathan Sams, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her grand-daughter, Jessica Sams and husband Greg; daughter-in-law, Kim Sandora, both of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Hermitage Heath Center for their special care. The graveside service will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2016, at 10AM in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:45AM to proceed to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unaka Ave. Baptist Church or the Alzheimers Association. Appalachian Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 800 E.
