Tom was a very special friend to me and the other nurses and staff in the ER at the VA. I do not know what we would have done without him on some of the wild and crazy days when only 3 of us would be working with an ER full of patients. He could always come up with some humor to help get us through some of the hard times. He called me the Tom McCall bird because when some days were really rough, if I needed him, I would scream "Tom" in a loud screach, that he said would go all the way up his spine. We stayed in touch after retirement, but not nearly enough. He loved his family and friends as much as any man that I have known.

I worked with Tom at the VA. Being a Navy Senior Chief, we already had a lot in common. I work in the lab and he was always on the phone wanting results or to add additional testing. Tom will surely be missed as part of your family and our work family. Your prayers are with you and your family.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom at the Va. I was the nursing supervisor and he was in the ER. He always had a smile. He, Sandy, Helen, Carolyn, Melissa, Jenny, Linda..the "old crew" were a great team. He will be missed. Rest in peace Tom.
