Thelma Sue (Whistine) Tester

Mamaw Sue Tester, age 57, of Johnson City, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 following a sudden illness.  A lifelong resident of Johnson City, she was a daughter of the late Troy Jack and Helen Louise Dale Whistine. Mrs. Tester loved children and was considered Mamaw to all of the neighborhood kids.   She had a heart of gold and will be missed by everyone that knew her.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tabitha Tester; two sisters; and three brothers.Survivors include a son, Gary Tester and wife Kristin Winegar-Tester, Kingsport; special daughter, April Lawson; three grandchildren, Daniel, Lucas , and Brionah Tester; great grandchild, Audrey Tester;  one sister, Ginny McGee, Johnson City; three brothers, TeeRoy Whistine and wife Lena, Johnson City, Pete Whistine, and wife Debbie, Johnson City, and Phil Whistine and wife Shirley,  Ohio; sister-in-law, Gail Whistine, Jonesborough; special sisters, Flor, Bobbie and Trina.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the funeral home via our website to help offset funeral expenses.  favorite_border Appeal For DonationsRead Obituary
