Susan Diane Wainscott

Susie Wainscott, 60, Gray, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Susie fought a brave and courageous battle with her illness, always kept a positive outlook, never letting it get her down. She was a Johnson City native and a daughter of Mary Ann Gentry Chandler, Johnson City, and the late Rural Chandler. Susie was a retired housekeeper, working at several local hotels. She loved spending time with her granddaughter Analeah, who was her pride and joy, and also enjoyed flea markets and yard sales. In addition to her father, Susie was preceded in death by her brother, Tony Chandler. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her special friend, Justin Lane; two sons, Matthew (Angela), Johnson City, and Caleb (Maddie), currently serving in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany; four brothers, Ronald "Pinky" Chandler, Randy "R.C." Chandler, both of Limestone, Randall "Knott" Chandler, Johnson City, and Rick "Gator" Chandler (Amy), Jonesborough; one sister, Janet Gamble (Larry), Gray; four grandchildren, Breelyn, Taleeya, Hunter and Analeah; nephew, Chad Chandler. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Doris Beavers, Roger & Regina Dye, Frank & Cathy Hare, and Dr. Chakraborty & staff of the cancer center. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 1:00 P.M., from the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl Richards, officiating. The graveside committal service and interment will follow in East Tennessee Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Wilson, Larry Smith and Calvin Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick, Randy and Randall Chandler. The family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service from 11:30 A.M. until the service time in the funeral home parlor.
