Steven Gerald McElyea, 40, Johnson City, died unexpectedly at his residence, Saturday, December 17, 2022.Steven was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City.He was a 2000 graduate of Daniel Boone High School, where he was a member of the golf team. Steven continued his love of golf following high school and enjoyed the special time spent playing with his father.He is survived by his daughter and love of his life, Autumn Hazelwood, Johnson City; father, Gerald Fred McElyea and wife Jan, Jonesborough; mother, Teresa Vanhoy Isaac, Johnson City, and her fiancé James Eskridge, Bristol; sister, Emma Grace Isaac, Johnson City; step-sister, Crystal Hicks, Bluff City; paternal grandmother, Sarah McElyea, Johnson City; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.The service celebrating Steven’s life will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 8:00 P.M., in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Williams, officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
