Dear Cox Family,
Please accept our deep condolences for Sherman on his passing. Over the many many years it was always a privilege to work with him and all he did for the Peerless Family. There are so many favorable stories we can reflect back on over the years. Sherman was always kind person and heartfelt to our family. It was a time we also got to know his family, especially Michael & Joan that I worked with in our youth as we all grew up working around the Peerless. It was an honored to know him through our life. May Sherman rest and be with God in his kingdom now and forever .

Jean and Children,
I was very sadden to learn of Sherman's passing!  I first met Sherman at age 14 (I am now 73) when I went to work at Williams Grocery. We became big buddies, and he took me under his wing. We would eat lunch out occasionally. One of my responsibilities was cleaning up in the meat department. He also taught me some things about meat cutting and allowed me to assist him some with preparation of different cuts of meat.  I left Williams after 2 years, and at 17 joined the Navy.  After returning home from the Navy in Oct 1968, I learned he was the butcher at The Peerless.  I needed a job, so he vouched for me and I worked for about 2 weeks, bussing tables and washing dishes!
I saw him a few more times, and the last time I saw him was at Broadmore, when I was visiting my cousin.  He could not get over that it was me!!!  I enjoyed that last meeting!
I also enjoyed getting to know Jean, and remember when she worked at Krogers in JC.
May God bless all of you!!!
