Sam E. and Ann Roark, both of Johnson City, TN, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at their residence.  They were of the Baptist faith.Sam E. Roark was a son of the late Hubert Roark and Quilla Mae Story.  Sam worked at East Tennessee State University in the Custodial Department.  He was an avid video gamer.Ann Roark, was a daughter of Marie Miller Hardin, Johnson City, and the late Ed Campbell.    Ann loved to volunteer at the Women’s Shelter operated by Good Samaritan.  She worked for over 30 years for Wal-Mart in Johnson City, and previously employed by Howards Discounts in Johnson City.   Ann attended Daniel Boone High School.Sam and Ann leaves behind two daughters, Nikki Campbell, Johnson City and Kristy Newberry and husband Nick, Bluff City; six grandchildren, Jordan Campbell and wife Alissa, Jenny Donaldson, Jamie Donaldson, Cayden Newberry, Camron Newberry, and Madalyn Newberry; two great grandchildren, Tanner Campbell and Liam Campbell.In addition to her father, Ann is preceded in death by her step-father, Ifird Hardin and a brother, Mike Campbell.In addition to her mother, Ann is survived by three sisters, Patty Campbell and husband Pete Turner, Charlotte, NC, Susie Coomer, and Beth Hardin, both of Johnson City; one brother, George Campbell and wife Kristi, Gray.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She leaves behind her extended Wal-Mart family and special friends, Jackie Vines, Carolyn Nelson, Agnes Policky and Karen Hubbard.In addition to Sam’s parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Tipton and Catherine Roark; two brothers, David Roark and Spencer Roark.Survivors for Mr. Roark includes four brothers, Kenny Roark, Dennis Roark, Roy Roark, and Roger Trent, all of Johnson City.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family would like to acknowledge Sam’s special friends at Craig’s Pawn Shop of Johnson City.The funeral service for Sam and Ann Roark will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.Private disposition will be held at a later date.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.appfh.net.Appalachian Funereal Home & Cremation Services, 800 E. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. I love you all so very much, always remember those we love don't go away  they walk beside us every day, always near still loved still missed and very dear.
