Ruth Elizabeth Perkey Whittington

Ruth Elizabeth Perkey Whittington, 83, Bristol, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Richlands, VA to the late Robert and Ethel Dye Perkey.Ruth was a cook and a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church. She was an outstanding mother and grandmother.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Valley Eugen Whittington, brothers, James, Fred, Robert, Orville and Jessie Perkey, sisters, Minnie Perkey, Mae Bunton, and Bessie Rosenbaum, daughter-in-law, Pamela Perkey.Survivors include her sons, Randy Perkey, Ronald Whittington and fiancé Hope Cole; grandchildren, Christopher Whittington and girlfriend Raven Finch, Dylan Hooven, Jacob Cutler and girlfriend Sarah Chaffin, Summer Whittington and fiancé Jonathan Campbell, Tiffany Adams, Sarah Cole all from Bristol; brother, Cecil Perkey of Galion, OH.The celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Taylor and Pastor Tony Thompson, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.In-lieu-of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Appalachian Funeral Home for Ruth’s final expenses.Read Obituary
