Reece Bryant

Reece Bryant, 86, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Mr. Bryant was born in Bradshaw, North Carolina a son to Earl Bryant and Dolly Griffith. Mr. Bryant was a veteran in the United States Air Force and a truck Driver for Mason Dixon. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #47, Teamsters Union and the Moose Lodge of Johnson City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary and a daughter Sharon L. Bryant. Survivors include his son Michael Bryant and wife Shelly of Kingsport, TN; son Vann Bryant and wife Sue of Paducah, KY, and a brother Glenn Bryant of Delaware, OH. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Byron Bryant, Megan Ellmers and Heather Elmer. He is also survived by five great grandchildren. Mr. Bryant is survived by two special friends Bob Mongel and Lonnie Webb. The funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, March 8th , 2016 at 11:30AM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phil Garber officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 till 11:30. The graveside will follow the funeral Service at Washington County Memory Gardens. Mr Bryant's Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearer is Dr. Rachel Monderer. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Washington County Humane Society.
