Rebecca Burchfield Smith

Rebecca Burchfield Smith, 58, Johnson City, passed away after a lengthy illness, Monday, December 18, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Robert and Pansy Price Burchfield. Rebecca was in Food Service with the Johnson City School System. She was a member of Cross Park Church in Bristol. Rebecca loved her boys and grandchildren immensely. She had fun and lived life to the fullest. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister, Robin Burchfield. Survivors include, her husband of 27 years, Roscoe Smith; sons, Charlie Pritchett, Chance Pritchett (Victoria), Joshua Burchfield; grandchildren, Soraya Nickles, Harper Burchfield, Chancely Prichett, Indy Pritchett; brother, Robert Burchfield, Jr. (Mary); sisters, Doris Sluder, Ginger Kopp (Denny); several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister Ginger for the wonderful level of care she gave Rebecca during this time. The celebration of life service for Rebecca will be conducted Friday, December 29, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Thompson, officiating and special music by Billy Pierson.
