Ray Allen Shirley, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Johnson City. A native of Rutledge, Tennessee, he was the youngest of 3 sons of the late Earl and Grace Davis Shirley. Mr. Shirley was a member and former Deacon of Clark Street Baptist Church in Johnson City. He was a graduate of Rutledge High School and received his Bachelors degree from Carson Newman College. Mr. Shirley was employed by B&W Tobacco Company for 25 years, and later worked for Wal-Mart in Johnson City. An avid sports fan, Mr. Shirley enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and The University of Tennessee Volunteers. He loved vintage antique cars. It was the wishes of Mr. Shirley to be cremated with no formal services. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard McDavid and Pam Trantham for their loving care of Mr. Shirley. Order FlowersRead Obituary
