Perry Lee Nickles, 59, Johnson City, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Perry was a native and lifelong Johnson City resident. He was a son of the late Wiley P. Nickles and Maggie Dykes Nickles Martin. Perry retired from the Johnson City Housing Authority as a Groundsmen Supervisor in 2008 after eighteen years of service. He was a member of Clifton View Baptist Church, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Nickles. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Freda Hicks Nickles; three sons, Sean Arnold Nickles, Jason Nickles and wife Betsy, Perry Shane Nickles and wife Lisa, all of Johnson City; one brother, Joe Nickles and wife Cheryl, Johnson City; two sisters, Kim Nickles Hinton, and Tammy Nickles Woods, both of Johnson City; six grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-grandsons, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. The memorial service for Perry will be Friday, June 19, 2015, at 7:00 P.M., at Clifton View Baptist Church, with Rev. Claude Babb officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the church.
