Ouida G Bailey

Ouida Bailey, age 77, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A lifelong native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Ada Mae Ford. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Bailey was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Bailey in 2006, infant daughter; grandson, Robert Williams. Survivors include five daughters, Brenda Lilley, Johnson City, Debbie Hollinshead, Chuckey, Judy Whaley, Loretta Bailey, and Rhonda Bailey, all of Johnson City; three sons, Albert Eugene Bailey, Reece Lee Bailey and wife Susie, all of Johnson City, Danny Ray Bailey and wife Sari, Bristol, TN; eight grandchildren, Sheila Lilley, Barbara Jones, Daniel Lilley, Devin Hurt, Amanda Bailey, Eric Whaley, Timmy Bailey, and Kimberly Bailey; seven great grandchildren, MaKayla Jones, Jazmine Morrow, Aubrey Bailey, Veronica Bailey, Kevin Silvers, Brandon Hollinshead, and Summer Gentry; one brother, James Hammett, Johnson City. The funeral service for Mrs. Bailey will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. in the East Parlor. The graveside service and interment will follow at Bailey Cemetery, Bakersville, North Carolina.
