Becky was my neighbor when I was growing up. She was always kind and encouraging. I always looked forward to meeting her in her garden and having a chat. <3
I am sorry to hear of the loss of MS Thomas. She and I worked together at WCA as dorm parents and I served as Director of weekend activities with her at Tipton Haynes Historic Site when I was younger. Now that I am 61 years old I can relate to her and her stories even more. She was a fantastic lady. I will always have a warm place in my heart for her.
I had many enjoyable visits over the years with Becky. She had so many experiences to share and loved hearing about our family and seeing pictures of the kids. She remembered them walking to the bus by her house and stopping to ask if she needed help. She had a way of looking directly at a person that made them feel valued and important. Our visits in the nursing home were short and sweet, always sharing pictures and catching up on the family activities. Her mind was always so sharp, we had to work to keep up!
One memory that speaks to her determination was a time I saw her in the Kroger parking lot with a buggy full of groceries. As she was attempting to put them in the trunk of her car, I asked if I could help and she said no. She had to do it herself or she would lose the ability to be independent. She was always independent, right to the very end. I will miss our visits.
She was a very loving, caring, and sweet dorm Mother. She will be missed. Sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to her loved ones. Fly high dear Angel ❤️
I was Becky's neighbor on Chickees St. for 10 years. We had many conversations at her mailbox. One time she had fallen trying to pick something up off the floor. I gave her one of my "grabbers". She smiled greatly. To this day I still drive by her mailbox hoping she will be out. Wonderful lady. RIP....Dr. David Champouillon.
Becky was a wonderful lady. She was Queen of our neighborhood. Loved visiting with her and learned so much history of this area.
She will be missed.
