Naomi Ruth Baker Clawson Freeman Naomi Ruth Baker Clawson Freeman, age 68, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Naomi was born on February 22, 1947 to the late Samuel Monroe Baker and the late Eva Jane (Carter) Baker of Johnson City. She loved and attended Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her sisters. Naomi was preceded in death by five brothers; Freddie and Cecil, both of Johnson City, Johnny, of Florida, Samuel D. and Paul both of Jonesborough; two sisters, Edna Nave and Hazel Wilson, both of Johnson City. She is survived by three sons, Tim Clawson and wife Carol, Teddy Clawson, and Kenny Freeman, all of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Darcy (Clawson) Pageni and husband Paras, of South Carolina, Dustin Clawson and fiancée, Haley Hughes of Johnson City, and Andrew Clawson, of Johnson City; Three sisters, Edith Bowman, of Johnson City, Mary Ann Street and husband, Jack, of North Carolina, Jean Bennett and husband Ray, of Jonesborough. Naomi is also survived by special friends Christie and Jack Pohto, Faye, Sherry, Michael, Holly, and Colton Chase. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Freeman will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home, or other times at the residence of her son, Tim Clawson, 2202 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City. The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service at Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from her sons and grandsons.
