Mildred Ruby Ellen Paul, 94, Johnson City, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the Cumberland Medical Center, Crossville, following a very brief illness. Mildred was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Henry Lewis and Matilda Mae Blevins Lewis Hargis Woodby. Mildred was a homemaker, and a Baptist. She enjoyed listening to Country & Western music. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Paul, in 2004, four sons, Kenny, Chip, Walter and Ricky Paul, her brother, Walter Hargis, and her sister, Mary Ann Stevens. She is survived by three sons, James “Butch” Lewis and wife Kim, Watauga, David W. Paul and Richard L. Paul, both of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Lance, Kingsley, Amber, Andrew and Ashley Paul, Nicholas Prevette and Heather Whitley; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The graveside funeral service will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those planning to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 P.M. Those who prefer to make memorial donations in-lieu-of flowers may do so to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
