Ronnie and I are so sorry to hear of Mildred's passing. We both loved and admired her so much. We came to know her when she first came to Tacoma back in the 1960's. She was an amazing woman with great talent. Always had a smile and kind word for both of us. Please give Harvey our love and condolences, also. Mildred was the youngest 97 year old I ever knew.

Happily Serving America's Veterans When VAMC, Mtn Home, decided to start a Residential Care Home Program, Mildred was one of the first to volunteer to help develop the program as well as serve as a veteran sponsor. This fit in so well with her "can do" attitude in volunteering in the many other programs that were still in their infancy. She was innovative, reliable and such a "joy" with whom to work. Our veterans loved her as did we. We will miss her friendship, her outgoing attitude, her willingness to "drop everything" and respond when we needed her, her experience gained from many years of volunteering and her talents in so many areas. Mildred was "one of a kind" and a very great friend to us and so many others! We were blessed to have known and worked with her.
