Maxine Campbell Carver

October 4, 1940 - November 25, 2017

Maxine Campbell Carver, age 77, of Jonesborough, passed away to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at her residence following a brief illness. A native of the Milligan Community, she was a daughter of the late James and Learly Byrd Campbell. Mrs. Carver retired as a custodian from the Washington County School System in 1992. She was a lifelong member of Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church, but she had been attending Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church for the past several years. Mrs. Carver enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold Carver; two brothers, Jerry and Joe Campbell; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Carver. Survivors include her daughter, Amy Ward and husband Perry, Jonesborough; three sons, Danny Carver, Johnson City, Tim Carver and wife Brenda and Denny Carver and wife Lisa, all of Jonesborough; two brothers, Harold Campbell and wife Zelma and Johnny Campbell and wife Marie; five sisters, Margaret Nave, Mary Bowman, Sue Gregg and husband Bob, Marlene Ferguson and husband Charlie, and Lynn Pierce and husband Jeff; 2 sisters-in-law, Jean Campbell and Phyllis Campbell; ten grandchildren, Amanda Lafollette, Ashley Daugherty, Jennifer Trivette, Tyler Carver, James King, Dustin Saylor, Zachary Garland, Hunter Ward, P.J Ward, and Ed Ward; 23 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Carver will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Jennings and Rev. Paul Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
