Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, I am willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”Mary Ann Bristol, died unexpectedly Sunday November14, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Long Beach, California.Mary Ann was a native of Denver, Colorado, a former resident of Johnson City, Tennessee and Florida before moving to Long Beach in 1962. She was a daughter of the late Hugo Williamson and Docie Nelson Williamson.Mary Ann was a Christian lady who loved her family and friends. She loved to travel and eat good food. Mary Ann loved to read Agatha Christie mysteries, do Search-a-Word puzzles and watch Law and Order. She was a hard worker who worked in hospitality for the Blackstone Hotel in Long Beach for many years. Mary overcame many hardships and much adversity in her life with a quiet grace and dignity. She was loved by all who knew her and will forever be missed.In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her former husbands. Elbert Douglas Anders in 1992 and Clyde Oliver Bristol in 1996, two sons, Jack Bristol and Paul Oliver Bristol, three daughters, Edna Louise Bristol, Sierra Sue Bristol and Kasandra Kay Cotton, one sister Helen Nelson and one grandson.Mary Ann is survived by two children, Douglas Edward Anders and wife Donna, Johnson City and Victoria Belle Minutella, Long Beach; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 2:30 P.M., in the Mausoleum Chapel at Washington County Memory Gardens, with Pastor Lester Perkins officiating. Special music will be provided by the Sounds of Victory and Ernest Hicks. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:20 PM on Thursday.
