Martha Simpson Trivett

Martha "Pat" Simpson Stover Trivett Mrs Martha Pat Simpson Stover Trivett passed away on January 20, 2018 with her loving family at her side. She is the daughter of the late Mary Byrne Simpson and Charles Grattan Stover. She is preceded in death by her husband Barclay Rexford Trivett and sister Mary Bryne Stover Winnsborough. She is survived by her son Charles Rexford Trivett, Jacksonville Florida, wife Tammie, Granddaughter Ashley and fiancé Eriq Jones, grandson Sgt. Christopher Trivett U.S. Army, wife Moriah, great grandson Tristan James, daughter Barbara Ellen Trivett, Johnson City, grandson Captain Michael Charles Lester USAF, wife Sarah, and greatgrandson Kaladin Wingert Lester, daughter Mary Byrne Trivett, Knoxville Tennessee. Born in Greeneville, South Carolina, She was educated at the Georgia State College for Women, worked at K-25 in Kingston TN where she met her husband. After moving to Johnson City in 1967, she joined First Presbyterian Church and served devotedly until the recent years. Mrs Trivett returned to school in 1975 and obtained her Master in Library Science, she served as Johnson City Medical Center Librarian for many years, and was at the forefront of the early internet with "Grateful Med". Mother participated in Monday Club, Librarians Consortium. Mother loved camping, reading, playing the piano, gardening, participating in her church choir/bible studies/circles Wednesday night suppers/Vacation Bible School/ volunteering in the church office/worshiping/serving as a deaconess and validating feminine spiritual leadership, contributing to the Lenten devotional, gardening, swimming, the beach, setting a beautiful Holiday table, traveling, genealogy and history. Mom was always ready to recommend a good book to her kids and encourage the education of her family. She made a beautiful photo album of the family going back four generations for each of her children, sister and herself, it is a special treasure which speaks to her devotion to family history. Thanks to Cornerstone Assisted Living for their wonderful care making her last hears comfortable, safe, and pleasant, thanks also to Cornerstone North and Caris Hospice for making her last days peaceful and pain free, a special thanks for her First Presbyterian Church for visiting her over the years, to our friends and family for making this our last journey with Mom easier to bear.
