Mark Hilton McKinley

Mark Hilton “Troll” McKinley, 62, Hiltons, VA, died Monday, February 13, 2023, at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, following a brief illness.Mark was born in Hammond, IN, raised in Hiltons, VA, and spent his adult life tramping throughout the country. A few of his favorite places to spend extended periods of time were Missola, MT, and Asheville, NC. Mark was the son of the late William and Marie Elizabeth Hilton McKinley.He was a Journeyman Electrician, working as he traveled, as a residential, commercial and industrial electrician.Mark was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mark was very spiritual. He was an avid guitarist, and preferred being outdoors, especially hiking, and had completed the Appalachian Trail.Mark is survived by three children, Alexander McKinley, Benjamin McKinley, and Casandra Rice; one grandson, Landon; one sister, Elizabeth McKinley-Austin, Hiltons; two nieces, Tiffany Alyea and Lelia Alyea, both of Kingsport.Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and will be announced when finalized.Read Obituary
