Loretta "Gail" Jennings

Gail Jennings, 71, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late George W. and Dorothy J. (Tipton) Rice. Gail spent most of her adult life in Johnson City. Gail was of the Methodist faith. While her father and husband where both in the Army, Gail graduated high school at Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan. After high school, she attended and graduated from Steed College. She spent most of her career as the head of medical records and scheduling at the former Asbury Center. Gail enjoyed doing paintings and decorative plaques. She also enjoyed decorating for Christmas and car rides through the backroads and country. In Addition to her parents Gail was preceded in death by her husband; Anthony Cordell Jennings, and infant daughter; Shannon DeVoe Jennings. She is survived by one son; Marcus Jennings, sister; Christina Collins, brothers; Marshall, Lance, and Eric Rice (Patsy), several nieces, one nephew, and several cousins. The Jennings Family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Monday, June 1, 2020 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home from 11:00am-1:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm. Committal and Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone who wishes to attend is asked to practice social distancing and take all possible precautions. In lieu of flowers the Jennings family has requested that donations be made in Gail’s memory to ASPCA, 2101 W.
