Lorelei Cecelia Barton Fleming of Johnson City, age 94, passed peacefully on May 4, 2016. She was born in Los Angeles, California on Dec. 9, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Clarence O'Neill Barton and Happy May Tyler Barton. Mrs. Fleming moved to Johnson City, Tennessee in 1954 with her husband Jim Fleming, a Johnson City native. She was a member of Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she served as church secretary from 1958 to 1972. She was also a former member of the Monday Club and League of Women Voters. Lorelei was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, James H. Fleming, Sr. (Jim) and her brother Patrick O'Neill Barton. She is survived by her sons, Michael T. Fleming and his wife Annette of Chesapeake, VA, James H. Fleming, Jr. (Jeff) and his wife Barbara of Knoxville, TN ; grandchildren, Shannon Fleming Greaves and husband Joel of Boone, NC; Shaun Fleming and Darlynn Bell of Suffolk, VA; Matthew Fleming and Michael Fleming of Knoxville, TN.; and great granddaughter Snow Greaves. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 pm Friday, May 13 at Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church, 610 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601. Funeral services will follow at 5:30 pm at the church with the Rev. Patricia Locke officiating.
