Kenneth P Williams, 67, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, following a lengthy illness. Kenneth was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Charles and Belvia Nichols Williams. Kenneth was a U.S. Army vereran, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was an electrician for several years following his military service until his employment with Ryan's Family Steakhouse in 1985, where he was a meat cutter, retiring after seventeen years. Kenneth was a Christian and was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and David, and two sisters, Amelia and Charlene. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Ruth C. Williams; his beloved dog, Copper; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 4:00 P.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Dan Case and Alfred Crum, officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home. The graveside committal service will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in Monte Vista Memorial Park, with military honors being accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933, members of the Tennessee Army National Guard and Disabled American Veterans. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. We all loved Ken so much and was praying hard for a different outcome, but the lord seen he was tired and called him home. I am so sorry for your loss. We are here if you need us.
