Kay S. Foster

Kay S. Foster, age 75, of Johnson City, went home to be with Her Lord after serving him for most of her life on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy Illness.  A lifelong native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late James and Hazel Reed Bower.  Mrs. Foster was a very active member of Liberty Fellowship Church where her main passion was on the children.  For over 50 years, she served as either a Sunday School teacher or worked in the nursery.  Mrs. Foster was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was retired from JC Penny’s and was an avid reader and dog lover.She is survived by her husband, Dan Foster, Johnson City; three daughters, Becky Woodruff and husband Henry, Johnson City, Terrie Foster, Nashville, and Amy Duncan and husband Kevin, Jonesborough; son, Les Foster and wife Jackie, Johnson City; brother, Gary Bower, Mountain City; grandchildren, Kelley Foster, Daniel Foster and wife Natalia, Jessica Woodruff, Drew Woodruff, Autumn Blair and husband Trent, Hunter Parrott, Clay Duncan and Sam Duncan; great grandchild, Brady Taylor; her dog, Sassy.The Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Kay Foster will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Foster and Rev. Curtis Hurt officiating.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 9:00 A.M. Monday, January 7 at Roselawn Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 8:50 A.M. Monday.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Fellowship Church, 1011 E.
