Jimmy Carroll Garland, Jr., 38, Johnson City, died Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Johnson City Medical center after complications from a heart condition. Jimmy was a native of Johnson City, and a son of Jimmy Carroll Garland and the late Sharon Berry Garland. Jimmy was a member of Rock Fellowship Church. He was a child of God and enjoyed attending church there. Jimmy was creative, hardworking and loyal. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, brother and friend. Jimmy was made for a beautiful purpose. In addition to his mother, Jimmy is preceded in death by a son, Ashton Parker Garland. His survivors include his wife of 20 years, Stacey Hartman Garland; children, Jessica Johnson, Stephen Garland, Joshua Garland, Dylan Norris; grandchildren, Zaelyn Johnson, Aaliyah Norris; grandmother, Betty Garland; brother, Todd Berry; sisters, Pearl Cottrell, Carmen Garland-Maupin and husband Eddie; sister-in-law, Felisha McCurry and husband Chris; brother-in-law, Tony Stout; aunt, Kim Simms; cousins, Chris Rhodes, Aaron Rhodes; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and family. The funeral service for Jimmy will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Hensley, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home. Those in attendance are to wear a mask or protective face covering and practice appropriate social distancing. The graveside committal service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021, in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:45 a.m. to follow in procession to the cemetery
