Jim Carrier, age 81, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his residence. A lifelong native of Johnson City, he was a son of the late Jim and Bessie McKinney Carrier. He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1948 to 1952. Mr. Carrier was of the Christian faith, and a member of the Johnson City Moose Lodge #1831. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carrier is survived by his daughter, Debi Howard Carrier; sister, Sherry Totolo; a brother, Ted Campbell. Survivors include a son, Doni Carrier, Johnson City; granddaughter, Garryn Howard, Johnson City; grandson, Gregory Carrier, Elizabethton; one sister, Mary Brown. The funeral service for Mr. Carrier will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 in the chapel of the funeral home. Private disposition will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain States Hospice and nurses, and a special thanks to his previous wife, Sharon for her care, support and friendship.
