Jennie Loretta Hamilton

Jennie L. Hamilton, age 77, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Johnson City, she was the daughter of Fannie L. Friday Millhorn, Johnson City, and the late Ralph A. Millhorn. Mrs. Hamilton was a graduate of Boones Creek High School and attended Marvins Chapel United Methodist Church, Boones Creek. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially cats. She and her husband loved to travel. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry L. Hamilton in 2009. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Donald L. Hamilton, Johnson City; two daughters, Patricia Hamilton, Gray, Shelly Hamilton, Kingsport; three brothers, Jimmy Millhorn and wife Lyda, Gray, Ronnie Millhorn, Bristol, TN, and Terry Millhorn and wife Judy, Gray. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The visitation for Mrs. Hamilton will be Friday, August 19, from 12:30 until 1:30 in the East Parlor of Appalachian Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Harry Shelton, Paul Williamson, Tony Peterson, Randy Millhorn, and Lee Freeman.
