Janice “MiMi J” McKinney Jackson, 77, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday May 28, 2020 at her residence. She was born to the late Wiss and Anna Mae (Taylor) McKinney in Johnson City. Janice was a member of Northridge Community Church. Janice and her husband Bill spent most of their life in Elyria Ohio. She was a homemaker and a proud member of the Mouse Heart in Elyria and Mascot of Curl Up and Dye Hair Salon. She loved the beach, loved life and glitter, and was an avid Possum Radio listeners. In addition to her parents Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years William “Bill” Jackson. Janice is survived by her daughter Sherri Bounds (Rodney), granddaughter; Ashley Cox (Adam Kono), April and Arin Bounds , great-grandchildren; Blake and Rylee Cox, Kayla and Chloe Kono, grand dog; Mabb, brother; Kenneth McKinney (Peggy), special cousin; Joyce Bernel Harbon, best friends and sisters in Christ; Janie Barnett, Becky Szefcyk, Judy Faust, Thomasina Goddard Alexander , Annalee Bradley, along with several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday May 31, 2020 at Appalachian Funeral Home beginning at 10:30am with Chris Miller officiating. Committal and Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Monte Vista Memorial park. Everyone who wishes to attend the service is asked to practice social distancing and take all possible precautions.
