Those who were lucky enough to know Helen know she was beautiful inside and out. She was small in stature, almost fragile in appearance. The truth is she was one of the strongest women I have ever known! Helen endured much in her life, as many of us do, yet she remained steadfast in her faith and her commitment to cherish family and friends. She generously shared her vast strength and knowledge with her children and grandchildren. She celebrated their joys and successes and wiped their tears when the occasion arose. She was wise and kind and had learned the art of listening rather than lecturing which, like a magnet, drew young people to her. I will miss the woman who was once my mother-in-law and always my friend. I will miss the twinkle in her eye that let everyone know she was fun, a bit mischievous and had an enthusiasm for life and a love for family and friends that was to be envied.
