Helen Marie Teague

Helen Marie Teague, 88, passed away June 22, 2016 at Black Hawk Assisted Living in Spring Hill, KS. Helen was born December 14, 1927 in Knoxville, TN to Martha (Rogers) and E. B. Tolliver. She was a graduate of Elizabethton, Tennessee High School and East Tennessee State University. Helen was a Junior High School substitute teacher in Johnson City for 30 years. Helen married Reece Teague on June 2, 1951 in Elizabethton. She loved reading. Helen was a past member of the Civinettes. She sang in the Sweet Adelines for over 30 years, and was a member of Solon Gentry Sunday School Class since 1951. She taught Sunday School classes at Munsey United Methodist Church. Helen was a very active mother and wife. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Reece, her parents, and her brother Bill Tolliver. Helen is survived by her daughters Debbie Teague Jeffries and husband Bill of Spring Hill, KS, and Susan Teague Wiley of Cartersville, GA; sister-in-law Juanita Tolliver, three granddaughters, Melissa Jordan of Cartersville, Aubry Madison and Ashley Peterson of Spring Hill, and grandson Scott Barclay of Spring Hill; five great grandchildren; and special friend Leunah Tipton of Elizabethton. The Funeral Service for Ms.Teague will be at noon, Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City, TN. Visitation will be from 10 am - 12 pm Monday before the service at the church. Graveside service will follow the funeral service at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, TN.
