Harry L. Larimer, age 84, of Johnson City, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.A native of Washington County, he was a son of the late Christopher C. Larimer and the late Sarah Marie Feathers Milne. Mr. Larimer was a member of Hulls Chapel, Blountville, TN. In his early years, Harry had worked for Appalachian Funeral Home. He retired from the Washington County Sheriffs Department and from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Larimer had a true servant’s heart, for he cared about everyone. He loved cooking for his family, and could be found firing up the grill on big 4th of July picnics for all of his family. He was a caregiver for his mother-in-law, while also caring for his own mother. He loved hunting and fishing. Harry made several trips to Alaska with his wife to fish for salmon. He could light up a room with his smile, and will be truly missed.In addition to his parents, Mr. Larimer is preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Hensley; a brother, Bob Larimer.Survivors include his wife, Phyllis A. Larimer, Gray; three sons, Thomas A. Larimer, Johnson City, Christopher Larimer, Clarksville, IN, Richard Larimer, Johnson City; two daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Larimer Dobbs, Johnson City, and Cheryl Penix, Gray. 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; one sister, Anna Dean, Camden, West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.The funeral service for Mr. Larimer will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 30, 2018 with Pastor Estel Williams and Pastor Grover Starnes officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., in the parlor of Appalachian Funeral Home.The graveside service and interment service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hulls Chapel United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, c/o Carla Cox, 241 Henry Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.appfh.net. Archer, Daniel, and I sent our condolences and prayers. We love all of you and will miss Uncle Harry dearly.
Harry was a part of my life, as well as my son's life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.May he rest in Peace, Prayers of Comfort for His Family.

My heart aches for all of you, his body is no longer here but all the wonderful memories you made together will always remain.
Phyllis; so sorry for your loss. Billy and I loved Harry and your family. Billy loved talking with Harry while we had choir practice, sorry we couldn’t be there tonight. But know we are and will continue praying for you and the family. Love to all ??
I didn't meet Harry but a few times but to me he seemed like a caring and humble soul.I wished I could known him better.But just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
