Evelyn Ann Harrell

Evelyn Ann Whitson Harrell Evelyn Ann Whitson Harrell, 70, of Johnson City, went to be with her heavenly Father, after a long battle with lung cancer, on Monday, March 28, 2016 at NHC Nursing Home. She was born in Deerfield, VA, the daughter of Zol Whitson and Flora Boone Whitson Street. She retired from Noland Company as a showroom sales associate, later worked at Citigroup in Customer Service. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, going out to dinner and watching her favorite TV shows. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was always the one to take care of any family member that was ill or needed assistance. She loved spending time with her daughters and granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother Lewis Whitson and sister Nell Hicks. Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Kim Harrell Melton and Kristie L. Harrell, one granddaughter, Brittany A. Melton; two sisters Betty Sheffield, Nita Fullerton and husband Rodney Fullerton; one brother, Bobby Whitson and wife Gaye Whitson. Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at Antioch Baptist Church at 7PM, with the Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating.
