To the family of Elbert Worley Brummett: I am so sorry for your loss. I use to work with Worley at SunTrust Bank. He was one of the friendliest persons I have known. He will be missed. Jim Surface
So sorry for your loss, Worley was a customer and friend and work associate at Suntrust. He was truly a nice man. Leslie Stott
Our family wanted to express their sincere condolences in this your time of sorrow. We found this verse encouraging during our time of loss. "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. At John 5:28,29 Jesus spoke about the hope of the resurrection. You are in our thoughts as well. JR
My condolences to the family. Worley was a friend years ago when I worked at Ryan's. ... Hated to just learn you had passed, Worley, and I hope to see you in some other realm. Enjoyed our time working at Ryan's together -- discussing the women I had a shot at, encouraging me with school, listening to the Bucs on the transistor radio you kept in the drawer beside the cash register back when Ryan's was new and people were lined up out the door every weekend (you always pointed out how Calvin Talford and Trazel Silvers were from SWVa and Mister was from Virginia, too). I remember seeing you at the bank growing up (probably often when I's with my granddad), but the first time I met you was when I was probably 14 or 15 years old and one of the idiots I was with pointed his finger at y'all in the JC Mall branch of Hamilton Bank and said "this is a stick-up." You failed to see the humor in it, but didn't go off the deep end like a lot of folks in your position would have. ... Thanks for looking me up 10-12 years ago at the Press. Was great seeing you and remembering the late '80s-early '90s. You were a good friend.
