Edith Luella Bowman

Edith Luella Bowman, 92, Johnson City, was welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Edith was a native of Jonesborough, and a daughter of the late Samuel Monroe and Eva Jane Carter Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bowman in 1996, whom she reunited with on the day of what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary; a son, Robert Elmer Bowman; brothers, Johnny,Paul and Sammy Baker; sisters, Hazel Wilson, Edna Nave, Jean Bennett and Naomi Freeman. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth Lynn Bowman and Becky Bowman, both of Johnson City; daughter-in-law, Linda Connie Bowman, (wife of the late Robert Bowman), Yorkville, IL; brother-in-law, Ray Bennett, Johnson City; sister, Mary Ann Street, Buladean, NC; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special “daughter” at Dominion, Michelle True. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church and her caregivers at Dominion Senior Living.
