Dorothy “don’t call me Dot” Mae BlevinsDorothy  ”don’t call me Dot” Mae Blevins, 80, of 223 Laurels Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Signature Health Care of Elizabethton. The daughter of Dewey E. and Rosa B. Anderson, Mrs. Blevins was a Damascus, VA native and has been a resident of Johnson City for most of her life.She was a dedicated wife who was very active in Johnson City Freewill Baptist Church  and spent a great deal of time helping to take care of a large extended family. As the members of the family she cared for grew older and more independent, Mrs. Blevins could often be found visiting local nursing homes, where she would sing and talk to the residents. She will be truly missed.Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Anderson, and her husband, Carl R. Blevins. She is survived by two sisters, Juanita Cox and Betty Ware; four brothers – Charles, Dewey Jr., Bob and Bill Anderson; one stepson, Ray Blevins; one stepdaughter, Janice Randolph; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 12PM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Guy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11AM until noon prior to the service. The graveside committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park.Read Obituary
