Doris Testerman Johnson, age 85, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Broadmore Assisted Living. A lifelong native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Obra C. and Ann Runyan Testerman. Mrs. Johnson was a Charter member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church, but has been attending Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Junior" Johnson. Survivors include several cousins; special friends, Lucy Heise and Betsy Shaw. The funeral service for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Casson officiating. The entombment service will follow the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. at Monte Vista Memorial Park. I knew Doris well. we used to play cards at Sunridge North. Doris loved going to 107 to the Imish Restaurant. Rest In Peace my friend. you are missed. always had a sweet smile. love you.

We are so very sorry for your loss! Feelings of despair can be overwhelming at this time. We pray that "the Father of tender mercies, and the God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) will give you peace of mind and comfort in your hearts. Acts 24:15 says that "there is going to be a resurrection" and Job 14:14, 15 shows that God has a longing to resurrect his friends! We are so grateful that our loving God looks forward, as much as we do, to reuniting us with our loved ones.
