Donald "Donnie" McKinney

Donnie McKinney, age 60, Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly at home from a lengthy illness.Donnie is a native of Johnson City, and a son of the late Earnest H. and Reva Cambell McKinney. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Carol Fagan and Phyllis Bowman; a brother Ernest H. McKinney Jr.Donnie was a graduate of Science Hill High School and retired from Hampton Textile Printing. He was of Baptist faith. The last few years of his life has been hard on him but he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog Smokey whom he loved very much. Donnie also enjoyed watching great movies. He was an avid golfer, Nascar fan and a TN Vols fan.Those left behind to cherish Donnie’s memory are a sister, Janice McKinney; brothers, Roger, Jerry and Tommy McKinney, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.The funeral service for Donnie will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hodges officiating. A graveside service will follow in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dave Howell, Mike Howell, David Jones, Ronnie McElyea, Robert Ellis, and David King.
