Dennis Lee Phillips

Dennis Lee Phillips, 75, Johnson City, died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Lakebridge, A Waters Community, following a brief illness. Dennis was a native of Oneida, and was a resident of that area most of his life. He was a son of the late Arvil Ovie and Mary Joyce Walker Phillips. Dennis was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a retired Machinist, and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Michele Phillips, two sisters, Helen Fay and Barbara Trowbridge, two brothers, John and Junior Phillips. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn K. Groll and husband Kenneth, Peoria, AZ; two grandchildren, Jarett Groll and Mackenzy Groll, both of Peoria; five sisters, Rachel Burke and fiancé Edward, Judy Luzader, and Esther Baumgardner, all of Tennessee, Brenda Towns and husband Rod, Shirley Guymon, all of Texas; two brothers, Paul Phillips, Georgia, and Daniel Phillips, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Delzingo and family, and all of the Hero’s at the Community Living Center at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and all the hands that cared for him at Lakebridge. The graveside funeral service for Dennis will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at the Historic Site of Mountain Home National Cemetery.
