David Alan Rose

David Rose, 67, Boones Creek Community, died unexpectedly Friday, December 28, 2023, at his home.David was born in Johnson City and was a lifelong resident of Boones Creek. He was a son of the late Donald “Don” David Rose and Dorothy Carter Rose Miller.David was a member of the Class of 74, the first graduating class from Daniel Boone High School. He later attended ETSU.David worked many years as a residential builder, doing both remodeling and new construction. He later became interested in working on automobiles, and his hobby became his business, which he loved working at daily. David also enjoyed farming with his family.In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by a brother, Dale Rose, a nephew, Justin Rose, three aunts, Carolyn Carter Baird, Sara Jane Carter Knight, Mary Emma Carter Johnson, and an uncle, Billy Lee Carter.He is survived by his brother, Duane Rose, Boones Creek; his nephew, Devin Rose and fiancé, Chelsea Davis, Jonesborough; great-nephew, Jackson Rose; great-niece, Addison Turnmire; uncles, Clyde W. Carter, Boones Creek, and Tom Baird, Johnson City; aunt, Patsy Carter Baird and husband Henry, Morristown; several cousins; and step-father, Clifford Miller.The funeral service for David will be conducted Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Rodney Cobble, officiating.The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 2:00–4:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.The graveside committal service will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Devin Rose, Jeff Leonard, Jesse Thomure, Tyler Gray and Barry Rochelle. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 P.M. to proceed to the cemetery.Read Obituary
