Clinton "Tommy" Kelley

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17Clinton “Tommy” Kelley, 75, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Morristown-Hamblen County Hospital. He was born to the late Clinton and Polly Kelley. Tommy was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church and served on the deacon board. He retired from TPI after over 48 years of dedicated service. Tommy loved the Lord with all his heart; he spent his life dedicated to God, his wife, family and church. He was a faithful servant who loved God’s word and witnessing to people. Tommy was a family man and always made sure his family was taken care of. He never met a stranger and was loved by all those who knew him. Tommy enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his brothers. In addition to his parents Tommy was preceded in death by his infant brothers, Keith and Randy Kelley. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 55 years, Evelyn Kelley; daughter, Lisa Myers Twist and husband Perry; son, Russell Kelley and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Alex, Christopher, and Nicholas Myers, Tony and Trevor Kelley; sister, Sandra Haworth and husband Roy; brothers, Kenneth Kelley and wife Judy, Larry Kelley and wife Gayleen, Johnny Kelley and wife Kim; along with several nieces and nephews. The Kelley family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Monday July 6, 2020 at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church in Johnson City from 11:00am-1:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm with Rev. Roy Yelton and Rev. Charles Biggs officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Tommy’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacon Board of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church.
