Clarence Gilbert Randolph, 83, Johnson City, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Randolph was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late George Gilbert and Mildred Brown Randolph. Mr. Randolph was a 1954 graduate of Science Hill High School and formerly attended East Tennessee State College. He retired in 1992 from the City of Johnson City’s Engineering Department after more than thirty years as a Surveyor and road construction Inspector. Mr. Randolph was a member of Harrison Christian Church, was an avid golfer, formerly bowled in the Johnson City bowling leagues, loved to read and enjoyed visiting the Library. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Randolph, and his sister, Gayle Charles. Mr. Randolph is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Carolyn Randolph; three children, Charles Wayne Randolph and wife Louella, Johnson City, Lois Shivers and husband Chuck, Kingsport, Richard Randolph and fiancé Michelle Torres, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Kristina and Colleen Shivers, Matthew Johnson, Cody Shivers; one great-grandson, Greyson Shivers. It was Mr. Randolph’s wishes to be cremated, there will be no formal service. In-lieu-of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeast Tennessee, 2020 Meadowview Pkwy. STE 100, Kingsport, TN 37660.
