Charles Isaac Roberts, 39, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center, following a brief, courageous battle with cancer.He was a native of Bristol, where he lived most of his life and was a 1997 graduate of Sullivan Central High School.Charlie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, where he served in the Military Police. He was formerly employed with the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a former member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.He is survived by his parents, David Roberts and Bethany Maiden Roberts, both of Bristol; his brother, Sam Roberts, Sevierville; his sister, Rebecca Roberts Hathaway and husband Kody, Spring Hill; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Roberts, Bristol, VA; several uncles, aunts and cousins.Charlie was preceded in death by his birth mother, Susie Russ Holly, in 2016.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 11:30 A.M. in Mountain Home National Cemetery Annex, with Dr. Phillip Blevins, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those planning to attend are to meet at the cemetery annex at 11:20 A.M. Wednesday.Read Obituary

I am so sorry for the Robert's family, the loss of a child is heart breaking, may your son rest in the arms of our Savior and the Lord, and I know that my son and the other saints will greet Charles at the heavenly door.

My highest condolences and respect for one of the greats, in my opinion, a man that has helped more people than water has washed. I love you brother, you're one for the record books, gone but not forgotten....
