Charles Francis Cowell III

Charles Francis Cowell, III, age 69, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late Charles Francis Cowell, Jr., and the late Catherine Hudson Erb Cowell. Mr. Cowell was a retired deputy sheriff with the Washington County Sheriff's Department. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Cowell is survived by his wife, Debbie Cowell, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Chris Lee, Jonesborough; a granddaughter, Gracen Lee; sister in-law and brother-in-law, Libby and Jay Wise. Several cousins also survive. The graveside service for Mr. Cowell will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 27 from Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 P.M.
