Caroline (Miller) Godsey

Caroline Miller Godsey, age 72, of Johnson City, went home to be with Jesus, with her family by her side Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Johnson City, she was a daughter of the late Buford M. and Thelma E. Smallwood Miller. Mrs. Godsey was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was a spiritual person, and a friend to everyone who knew her. She loved her Lord and her family. She is survived by her husband, Jerry T. Godsey, Johnson City; daughter, Carol Denise Long, Houston, TX; son, Fred Long, Jonesborough, TN; sisters, Dianah Miller Cox and husband Don, Johnson City, Julia Miller Goff and husband Teddy, Hampton; nephew, Dustin Goff, Hampton; Special friend Rhonda Bajko. She is also survived by her best friend, her dog Toi. The funeral service for Mrs. Godsey will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2015 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Dr. Reggie Weems officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home. The graveside service and interment will follow at Telford Cemetery, Telford, TN. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the whole nursing staff of the 6300 wing of the Johnson City Medical Center for their loving care.
