Blanche Beatrice Roark

Blanche Beatrice Roark, age 79, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her residence following a lengthy illness. A lifelong native of Johnson City, she was a daughter of the late Earnest Blanchard and Ida Mae Emmert Carr. Mrs. Roark retired from E.T.S.U. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Roark; son, Randy Roark; grandson, Brandon McCoy; great grandson, Layton Story; two sisters, Phyllis White and Gladine Whitaker; three brothers, James Carr, Clifford Carr, and Paul Carr. Survivors include a daughter, Reta Hicks and husband Bill, Johnson City; son, Jim Roark, and wife Ann, Gate City, VA; three grandchildren, Jacklyn Hicks and Jerome, Kathy Hicks and Eric, Jesse McCoy; eleven great grandchildren, Dakota, Nicole, Emily, Dillon, Autumn, Keidance, Shaylee, Merical, Mercy, Kinsley, and Leann; two sisters, Linda Stevens and Dinah Holtsclaw; one brothers, Earnest Carr, Jr. A private disposition will be held at a later date, however, friends may visit with the family at Mrs. Roark's residence anytime on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
