Benjamin Harris, 89, of Johnson City, passed away on January 13, 2018 at the VA Community Living Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. Ben was born on June 30, 1928, in Wilson, NC to the late Julian and Lenora Williams Harris. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his two brothers, William and Edward Harris; and two sisters, Ada Werts and Shirley Hartwell. Ben leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 63 years, Katie Harris; two sisters, Gloria Harris and Julia Clark, both of Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews and a worldwide brotherhood of Christian brothers and sisters. Ben was a member of the Johnson City Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A memorial service for Brother Harris will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 802 John Exum Pkwy, Johnson City, TN 37604.
