Arvil F. “Sonny” Davison, 85, Johnson City, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 unexpectedly at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.Sonny was a native of Johnson City and a son to the late Arthur and Linnie Wilkerson Davison.Sonny loved to walk, not just for the exercise but to visit his friends along the way. The children in his route called him “Mr. Sonny”. This was the highlight of his day. He loved to garden, planting more than he needed so he could share with family and friends. Sonny always had flowers planted and a birdbath for the birds. He fed the birds, sat on the porch to watch them every day and usually sitting with a good friend. Sonny loved his children and grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them. Some of his fondness memories were climbing a mountain with his dog and going grouse hunting.Sonny is also preceded in death by his loving wife Nina Jones Davison, and a sister Delores Holley.Those left to cherish his memory are a son, Scott Davison (Anita) of Unicoi; a daughter Teresa Lowe of Piney Flats; grandchildren Richard Lowe, Ashli Hatcher and Connie DeMelo; great-grandchildren Kelsi Hatcher, Sydnie Hatcher, Rece Lowe, Felix DeMelo and Vincent DeMelo.A graveside service for Sonny will be at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2019 at New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:20 P.M.Read Obituary

Sonny will most surely be missed by the residents of our subdivision! He always had a kind word for the people (and dogs) that he met on his daily walks. We will also miss the tomatoes that he so freely shared. He was a kind and sweet gentleman that it was my pleasure to know.
