Arlene Evelyn Fahey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Arlene Fahey, 93, Johnson City, died Monday, February 13, 2017, at her residence, following a brief illness. Mrs. Fahey was a native of San Antonio, TX, and had been a resident of Johnson City for more than fifty years. She was a daughter of the late Fred H. Meyer, Sr. and Mabel Lacey Meyer. Arlene worked more than thirty-five years in banking, retiring in 2006 from Regions Bank, formerly First American Bank, and is best remembered at the Broadway branch. She was a longtime member of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church, and a former member of the Johnson City Woman's Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fahey was preceded in death by her husband, Steve F. Fahey, Jr., her daughter, Susan Fahey Gordon, her brother, Fred H. Meyer, Jr., and sisters, Gwen Meyer Donadio and Collis Meyer Stahre. Arlene is survived by her son, Steve Fahey, III and wife Wanda, St. Marys, GA; grandchildren, Suzanne Crain Peloquin and husband David, League City, TX, Cher Crain Horning, Chris Crain and wife Leslie, all of Baytown, TX, Josh Fahey and wife Cassandra, Charlotte, NC, Jessica Fahey Hersey and husband Matt, Statesboro, GA; great-grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Houston, TX, Alex Walker Abshire and husband Kyle, Stephanie Peloquin, all of League City, Steven Horning, Kennedy Crain and Macey Crain, all of Baytown, Scott Horning, Midland, TX, Rhett Hersey, Statesboro; great-great-grandchild, Evan Horning, Baytown; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Shirley Leonard, Joe Lewis and Eufus Maupin. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 7:00 P.M., from the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Pope, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the parlor of the funeral home. The graveside committal service will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M., in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Joe Lewis, Chris Crain, Josh Fahey and Matt Hersey will serve as pallbearers. Those planning to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 A.M. Friday to proceed to the cemetery.
